Ingredients
  

  • 2.5 cups Sifted Flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp cloves
  • 2 Cup Rolled Oats
  • 3/4 Cup Butter or Shortening
  • 1 Cup Brown Sugar, packed
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1 Cup Fruit & Peels
  • 5 Tbsp Milk

Instructions
 

  • Sift flour once
  • Add Baking Powder, salt, spices and sift together 3 times
  • Add Rolled Oats
  • Cream butter, add sugar gradually, mixing well
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each
  • Add Fruit & Peels and milk
  • Add Flour mixture, mixing in a small amount at a time
  • Mix well
  • Drop on ungreased baking sheet
  • Bake in moderate oven 350 degrees 12-15 minutes
